This piece was written after I heard about the tribulations of Dennis Bathory-Kitsz – a composer familiar to many of us. Dennis was trying to get his opera produced - with all the financial issues and headaches that involves – when the creek near his house overflowed and flooded his basement. When the waters retreated Dennis had lost a freezer full of meat, a lot
of property and the electrical panel for his entire house. I wanted to write something in support of his heroic efforts – he persevered and was ultimately successful in getting his opera to the stage
