About 'Silenced Electronics'

The recordings in this release are all of items that are usually powered by electricity - a Casio keyboard, a Korg midi controller, a Fender electric guitar, a digital camera, and an Xbox controller. All of these things lose most, or all, of their functionality when starved of power.

By close mic'ing, or attaching piezos, I have amplified the accidental sounds of the switches, sliders, clips, cases, and textures of the objects, and have presented familiar items in an unfamiliar way.

Recorded on the 4th and 5th of August, 2012, in Lye, West Midlands.
